Director of Marketing - San Carlos, CA
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for Luidia’s marketing activities for both channel and OEM sales. This person will drive messaging, positioning strategy, promotions, and ensure that necessary materials are available for effective sales force and partner enablement. This person will also provide day-to-day management of our marketing team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain overall positioning of company and of products in chosen target vertical markets, develop and refine the communicated value proposition, and ensure strong competitive positioning
- Design, implement and manage marketing programs (with a focus on online campaigns) focusing on building awareness and customer acquisition
- Manage Marketing budget, including SEO and SEM projects, budget, reporting, and tracking
- Analyze and report program performance; provide results and recommendations for improvement and new programs
- Work with Product Managers, Marketing Communications and Sales to develop and execute highly effective direct response programs to significantly increase inbound lead flow and pipeline generation
- Effectively manage outside partnerships to maximize ROI on program investment
- Leverage a "test, measure and refine" approach to constantly improve program results and increase the impact of online marketing on revenue and profitability
- Develop copy for web pages and other marketing materials
- Devise and manage social media programs such as Communities and Crowdsourcing
- Manage ongoing changes and additions to the website
- Collect and analyze competitive data and produce an actionable strategy to position Luidia’s products against such competition through communications activities, sales, and channel education
- Proactively visit prospects and customers
- Provide input into channel strategy and ensure that sales and channel enablement materials are available to support this strategy
- Manage a team of Marketing Communications staff responsible for web content, public relations, and lead generation activities, and ensure that these activities are planned, timely, and effective in support of product and sales strategy
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a technical discipline with subsequent MBA
- Minimum of ten years of experience in business-to-business marketing with demonstrable success in positioning software and/or hardware solutions in vertical markets
- Hands-on experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple online channels, including social media channels
- Deep understanding of the software, computer peripheral, display, or educational technology industries
- Comfort with an entrepreneurial culture of a fast growing organization in an ever-changing industry
- A thorough understanding of user-site flow dynamics and of online marketing technologies and strategies
- Creativity in articulating our value to users and differentiating Luidia’s products from competitors
- A self-starter with strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and a player-coach mentality
- Clear and confident oral and written communication skills
- Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively, knowledgeably, and collaboratively with a wide range of internal company functions
