As a senior performance engineer, you will help to develop one of the fastest and most scalable software-as-a-service platforms on earth.


Gravity is working with the worldwide leader in on demand software. Our client is seeking an engineer who specializes in system performance and performance testing. The ideal candidate will design, deploy and execute performance/regression tests, compile performance data, profile code, and design code changes to improve architecture and system performance. We are seeking someone who can implement code changes and work alongside a world class team of developers to implement changes as appropriate. You will be expected to both challenge teammates, and be challenged on a highly technical level.

Required Skills/Experience:


  • Experience with enterprise performance testing tools such as Mercury LoadRunner or Seque SilkPerformer
  • Knowledge of Java environments, including but not limited to: memory management, collection classes and garbage collection
  • Hands on experience with Java or C++ code profiling and diagnostic tools 
  • Knowledge of relational databases: Oracle SQL / PL SQL in particular
  • Knowledge of query plan analysis / tuning, contention/locking analysis and tuning
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Oracle clustering configurations
  • 2 years development experience in Java, C/ C++, Perl or PHP
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of how network configuration affects performance
  • Knowledge of Oracle diagnostic tools like Quest Spotlight
  • Understanding of web programming technologies, such as: HTTP, HTML, cookies, Servlets and JSPs
  • Working knowledge of CRM Applications
