Territory Manager – South Central 

As our business expands, we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager that has experience in the education market. 

Job Description:

This position is responsible for driving sales to ensure that the South Central territory exceeds its targeted quarterly and annual sales objectives. The Regional Sales Manager provides field technical and sales support within an assigned geographic region focusing on key accounts and key areas. The main duties will be oriented to technical demonstrations performed at educational institutions within the assigned territory in conjunction with our channel partners. The product demonstration objective will be to effectively match our product capabilities to the client’s needs and then, in joint cooperation with our manufacture representatives and dealer channel, remove all competitive obstacles to solidify an order for our product. The Regional Sales Manager will then be responsible for collaborating with channel partners associated with completing a successful final product installation and customer training. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the pipeline within their territory. 

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Manage key sales opportunities in territory, drive sales using manufacture representatives and dealers, providing support where appropriate. 
  • Territory management, focus on key accounts and key areas to drive business directly and support channel partners. Manage full territory utilizing all channel partners. 
  • Ensure all manufacture representatives and channel partners are trained to sufficient level. 
  • Provide field demonstrations, sales and training support on current and future designated products. Set up joint travel days with manufacture representatives and dealers to increase their awareness of product applications and potential opportunities. 
  • Provide routine feedback related to technology and customers needs that would be important for new product development. 
  • Assist in closing large district sale opportunities, increase involvement in bid situations, and strengthen direct customer relationships to manufacturer. 
  • Complete after sale follow-up with the customer in conjunction with channel partners to ensure satisfaction with our product performance. Coordinate service assistance as required. 
  • Attend tradeshows and represent company as requested. 
  • Significant travel required. 

Experience Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree Required and 4+ years experience in industry, academia, technology, or related field. 
  • Experience in direct sales, Educational Sales Experience is a must. 
  • Channel/Reseller experience required. 
  • Ability to operate independently, with initiative, and good business judgment. 
  • Ideal candidate would be friendly, professional, energetic, with great people skills, and technology savvy. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the sales process. 
  • The ideal candidate will possess a quantifiable record of success in Education/Technology sales, with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals. 
  • Must understand complex sales process, build consensus throughout multiple levels of organizations, and be adept at developing relationships at multiple levels.
