Job Description: 
Our client is looking for an experienced manager with a solid web programming background to lead their Web Application and UI Team. The Application Team is charged with delivering various applications and custom widgets, designed using popular industry libraries and toolkits to facilitate rapid development, high quality and performance. As a team lead you will make a significant contribution creating priorities, managing critical tasks, and leading senior engineers who are developing code to a live product with ever growing exposure. This position will allow you to work in a fast-paced and creative environment, creating one of the most exciting online services.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of senior engineers and web developers.
  • Manage multiple development and implementation projects.
  • Diagnose, prioritize, coordinate and manage internal and external resources.
  • Apply industry best-practice software development standards and the latest technology to complex business problems.
  • Interface with other managers and executives on setting goals and objectives for applications development and process enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of engineers in a high volume online services company
  • 7+ years of work experience or equivalent programming in JavaScript or other dynamic object oriented languages.
  • Strong background in the design and development of commercial web applications on multiple platforms
  • Well versed in CSS Standards, HTML, and XHTML, proficient in AJAX type services and applications.
  • Exposure to multiple browsers including cross-browser development is a must.
  • Superb knowledge of Server side scripting languages, PHP preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Apache
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BS in Computer Science or Mathematics, MS or MBA preferred.
